Aquarius Rosa Parks sparked the Civil Rights movement when she marched to the beat of her own drummer by refusing to give up her bus seat to a white man. Susan B. Anthony fought tirelessly for a woman’s right to vote during a time when women had few legal rights. More than half a century later, author and activist Betty Friedan challenged the traditional roles of women and co-founded the National Organization of Women. Frederick Douglass, an escaped slave, became a leading abolitionist inspiring many through his writing and speeches. He was also a passionate advocate for women’s rights. Nicolaus Copernicus’ premise that the earth revolved around the sun countered the prevailing theory at the time. Fellow Aquarius Galileo challenged much of the scientific thought of his day and was placed under house arrest for teaching the Copernican doctrine. All of these Aquarians are some of the greatest innovators and thinkers the world has ever seen.
Many Aquarians are memorable simply because they stand out as people who are unlike anybody else. There has never been a basketball player like Aquarius Michael Jordan. His talent is that unusual. Composer Wolfgang Mozart stunned people with his extraordinary talent. Oprah Winfrey is a phenomenon. Her success has made her one of the wealthiest women in the world. And, in true Aquarian fashion, she has introduced countless people to new ways of thinking about their lives while encouraging them to help others.
Many Aquarians fall into one of two types. The first kind is more social, people-oriented, and outgoing. Friendliness, being a member of a group, being social and with people is important. If you fit this type, you will make a point of meeting new people and joining school clubs and activities.
The second kind of Aquarius is more private. If you are this type, you are like the inventor or scientist who is able to work long hours alone. You are less concerned with exploring the social world or involving yourself in common causes. Instead, you enjoy expressing yourself through solitary activities such as writing or painting.
